Our Vision
NHBT exists to rescue and reimagine Nottingham’s historic buildings at risk. Our vision is to grow into a trusted, financially sustainable and innovative Building Preservation Trust, unlocking heritage as a tool for social, cultural and economic renewal.
By combining sound governance, mixed income, and people-led purpose, we will become a catalyst for transformation across the city’s built environment.

Raise public awareness of Nottingham’s historic built environment
Make heritage accessible, inclusive and relevant for all
Build a pipeline of viable restoration projects rooted in public benefit
Develop a mixed income model – grant, membership, commercial and private
Strengthen good governance, partnerships and volunteer capacity
Founded to meet the urgent need for action on Nottingham’s many buildings at risk, NHBT is led by a multidisciplinary board and supported by a growing community of advocates and volunteers. With an ambitious plan in place and backing from national funders, we’re laying strong foundations for a new civic future – one where heritage is at the heart of renewal.
